For many women, being in a comfortable home, or a homelike, familiar setting, attended by well-trained midwives they have come to know personally throughout pregnancy; facilitates the positive body chemistry and intuitive movement ideal for spontaneous, safe, natural birth.  

Throughout the US and the developed world, statistics demonstrate excellent outcomes for midwife attended births that take place outside of the hospital.
