As is life, Rockbridge Midwifery Care has had its share of transitions and new beginnings and I write with news of our latest.  As many of you have already heard, Rockbridge Midwifery is expecting two babies of its own.  Christine Solberg our student midwife from Birthwise Midwifery School will be greeting her second child in the spring of 2012.  Christine will be moving back to her home state of Wisconsin with plans of continuing her midwifery education there, while enjoying the help of a loving extended family.  We are thrilled for Christine, Danny, and little Sarah Joy on their new adventure as a family of four. 

I too am expecting and though quite a surprise, we are happily anticipating the arrival of our third child later this year or in the first days of 2012.  Due to past lessons learned and with a conscious effort to follow my own advice, I will be taking several months of maternity leave beginning November 1, 2011 with a return date planned for April 1, 2012.  Rockbridge Midwifery Care will be moving out of its current location at the end of this month with its future location to be determined.  Postpartum appointments through November will continue as needed but as in-home only. Any inquires, thoughts, or questions can be made via email to rockbridgemidwifery@yahoo.com.

Niki, Christine and I have truly enjoyed getting to know the many extraordinary families we have had the good fortune to work with and I look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces next year!
